A journey to page speed 100…
We had exciting ups and downs, made some unexpected discoveries and lost faith along the way… (before rising from the abyss and making towards the light…)
This is the story of how we took our Gatsby e-Commerce stores, migrated them onto Next.js, and boosted page-speed scores from 60+ to well over 90+ on mobile and 100 on desktop…
The main parts of our journey were:

2. #code splitting / lazy loading
3. #code optimisation (in React)
4. #images… blasted images…
Our slogan is: Start selling in less than 10 minutes with a simple, lightning fast app…
So, while the page-speed score is a vanity metric just like for all other devs, it is also one that is core to our brand values.
We know our sites are fast, but if we were going to talk about it, we needed to make sure that the tools / analysis backed up our bluster…
